FAMILY GROCERIES · PRIVACY POLICY

Shared with your household, not advertisers.

This policy explains how grocery-list content and anonymous technical identifiers are processed for synchronization.

1. Scope and controller

This Privacy Policy applies to Family Groceries, called Courses Famille in French, published by BapCorp. BapCorp determines how data needed to provide the app and its synchronization features is handled.

Questions and privacy requests may be sent to support.bapcorp@gmail.com.

2. Data processed by the app

Grocery-list content

The app processes item names, quantities, units, checked or deleted status, item order, and update timestamps. Text typed or dictated into Smart Add becomes grocery-list content only when you choose to add it.

Anonymous identifiers

Firebase creates an anonymous authentication identifier. The app also uses a household/list identifier and anonymous membership records so permitted devices can synchronize the same list. No name, email address, or password is requested to use the app.

Technical service data

Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Firebase App Check may process technical information such as IP address, user agent, app identifier, device or integrity signals, and request metadata to authenticate, synchronize, secure, and prevent abuse of the service.

3. Camera, microphone, and speech recognition

  • Camera: used only to scan a QR code that connects a device to a shared list. BapCorp does not store or upload camera frames.
  • Microphone and Speech Recognition: used only when you start dictation for Smart Add. BapCorp does not store raw audio. Apple’s speech service may process audio or transcription data according to Apple’s policies and device settings.

You can deny or revoke these permissions in the device’s Privacy & Security settings. Typed entry remains available without microphone access.

4. Storage, sharing, and international processing

List content and preferences may be stored locally on your devices. Shared-list content, anonymous user identifiers, household/list identifiers, and membership records are synchronized using Google Firebase and Cloud Firestore.

Anyone who receives a valid household code or QR code may be able to join and change the associated list. Share it only with people you trust.

Google generally acts as a service provider or data processor for Firebase customer data. Firebase Authentication operates from United States data centers, and other Firebase services may process data on global Google infrastructure. See Google’s Firebase privacy information for details.

Family Groceries does not sell personal data, use third-party advertising, or track users across apps or websites. Firebase Analytics is disabled in the current production configuration.

5. Retention and deletion

  • Active shared-list content is retained while needed to keep the household list synchronized.
  • A deleted item is kept as a deletion marker for up to 30 days so an offline device does not restore it. It is then removed during synchronization cleanup.
  • Local copies remain until removed by the app, the app’s data is erased, or the app is uninstalled.
  • Anonymous authentication and membership records may remain until the related cloud data is deleted or a deletion request is completed.

Deleting the app from one device does not necessarily delete the shared cloud list used by other household devices.

6. Your privacy choices and rights

You can edit and delete list items in the app, revoke Camera, Microphone, or Speech Recognition permissions, and stop sharing a household code.

To request deletion of an entire synchronized list and its anonymous membership records, email support.bapcorp@gmail.com with the household/list code shown in Settings → Synchronization. We may ask for limited confirmation needed to locate the correct list. Do not publish the code or QR image.

Depending on where you live, you may also have legal rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or obtain information about personal data handled by BapCorp.

7. Support messages and this website

If you contact support, BapCorp receives the email address and information you include in your message. Support correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably needed to respond, document the resolution, prevent abuse, or meet legal obligations.

These static support and privacy pages do not use advertising cookies or BapCorp analytics. Cloudflare may process standard network and security information to deliver and protect the website.

8. Security, children, and changes

The app uses platform permission controls, Firebase authentication, Firebase App Check, encrypted network connections, and access rules intended to limit access to authorized list members. No system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Family Groceries is a general-audience household utility and is not designed to collect information from children for advertising or profiling.

This policy may be updated if app features, retention practices, or service providers change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version.

9. Service-provider information
