ATLAS · PRIVACY POLICY

Your journeys remain yours.

This policy explains what Atlas processes, why it is needed, where it is stored, and the choices available to you.

1. Scope and controller

This Privacy Policy applies to Atlas, a personal travel and destination journal published by BapCorp. BapCorp determines how data needed to provide Atlas is handled.

Questions or privacy requests may be sent to support.bapcorp@gmail.com.

2. Data processed by Atlas

Travel information you choose to add

Atlas stores destinations, country and locality information, coordinates, favorites, trips, visit dates, notes, and data you import. This content is used only to provide the features you request.

Location

If you grant permission and request the feature, Atlas uses your current location to center the map. Atlas does not request background location and does not use location for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Photo metadata

When you start a Photos import, Atlas reads location and date metadata from the photos you permit so it can suggest destinations and visits. Atlas does not copy the photo images into its database.

Place and map requests

Search terms, place identifiers, and coordinates needed for maps or place lookup may be sent to Google Maps and Google Places. Apple location and geocoding services may also process coordinates needed for a feature you request.

3. Storage, sharing, and transfers

Atlas data is stored locally on your device using Apple storage technologies. If you create an iCloud backup, the backup is stored in your iCloud Drive. CSV and JSON exports are saved or shared only to a location you select.

Atlas relies on service providers only where needed to deliver requested features:

  • Apple: device storage, Photos, location, geocoding, and optional iCloud Drive backup.
  • Google: Google Maps and Google Places for maps, search results, and place details.

These providers may process technical information, queries, coordinates, and network data under their own terms and privacy policies, potentially in countries outside your country of residence.

Atlas does not sell personal data, display third-party advertising, or track you across apps or websites.

4. Retention and deletion

  • Local Atlas data remains on your device until you remove it through Atlas, erase the app’s data, or uninstall the app.
  • Exports remain wherever you saved or shared them until you delete them.
  • iCloud backups remain in your iCloud Drive until you delete them there.
  • Third-party providers apply their own retention rules to requests processed by their services.

You can revoke Location or Photos access at any time in the device’s Privacy & Security settings. Revoking access stops future access but does not delete destinations or visits you already chose to save.

5. Your privacy choices and rights

Atlas provides controls to view, edit, export, and delete local travel data. Depending on where you live, you may also have legal rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or information about personal data handled by BapCorp.

Because BapCorp does not operate an Atlas account database, we generally cannot identify or retrieve the content stored only on your device or in your personal iCloud Drive. For other privacy questions, contact us at the address above.

6. Security, children, and changes

Atlas uses platform security and permission controls and limits access to data required for each feature. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so protect exported files and backups appropriately.

Atlas is a general-audience organizational app and is not designed to collect information from children for advertising or profiling.

This policy may be updated when Atlas features or service providers change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version.
